The number of performers is limited, and acceptance to the class is competitive. Performers will be selected solely on the quality of their performance on their audition recording.
Performers are college students of all levels (BM, MM, DMA) focused on professional development. Serious high school students looking to pursue a career in music, as well as serious amateurs, are also encouraged to apply as Performers.
We welcome applicants who are less experienced to apply for the Young Performer program. If you are not accepted as a Performer, then you will be automatically considered for the Young Performers, space permitting.
Applicants will be notified of their status by May 5, 2018.
The Performer's Fee is $1200 (see program details here) .
The Young Performer's Fee is $600 (see program details here).

Housing is available at the Colburn residences at a cost of $65 per night. Meals are not included. Participants should plan on spending about $25-$35 a day for their meals. The Colburn School Cafe will be open for the duration of flute week, specific hours TBA.

PERFORMERS MUST HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION. If you do not have a paypal account, please set one up here before starting your application. This step does not apply to auditors.
All application fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Once you complete and submit the online application, submit recordings or videos of you performing two contrasting, standard flute works with or without accompaniment that best display your playing by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Young performers must submit one recording or video of a work of their choice, with or without accompaniment.
In place of one flute work, two contrasting orchestral excerpts may be substituted. The recording should be recent; preferably within the last year. Live recordings are acceptable. Non-edited performances are preferred. Please make sure the sound quality represents you accurately. Youtube video links are also accepted instead of mp3 files.
Also include a brief biography (1-2 paragraphs) with your application describing yourself and your musical accomplishments.
Email your 1-2 paragraph biography and audition recordings (sent as attachments) to: email@example.com. Use separate files for each work. Use a compressed file format, such as mp3.
